Osaka Castle Park

The park around the castle is filled with cherry trees and they make for some excellent photos with the castle in the background. Some of the trees are illuminated during cherry blossom season.

Osaka Mint Bureau

A short walk from Tenmabashi Station on the Keihan Line, the Osaka Mint (Osaka Zoheikyoku) is Osaka’s most popular cherry blossom spot. Opening dates vary from year to year, but they tend to be in early to mid-April.

Ryokuchi-koen Park

In Northern Osaka, near Ryokuchikoen Station on the Midusuji subway line, this spacious park has some lovely trees. This park contains the excellent Open-Air Museum of Japanese Farmhouses, which makes a great addition to cherry blossom viewing.

Hoshida Park Suspension Bridge

One of the most stunning autumn viewpoints in the whole of Japan. Offering views across the 105 hectare park, the largely wooden suspension bridge is 50 meters high and allows you to look down across the trees.

Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park

This large park was once used to host the pavilions of the Japan World Exposition in 1970. Featuring forests, lawns, a Japanese garden, thousands of cherry trees, and the Momiji Waterfall, it’s a great place to view the autumn leaves.

Ushitakisan Daitoku-ji

An area of mountains well known for autumn foliage, designated as an Important Cultural Asset. Framed with the colors of autumn, the Tahōtō pagoda, bell tower, and Daishidō hall all make for stunning views.

Osaka Aquarium Kaiyūkan Illuminations

Every evening from 5 o’clock the “KAIYUKAN Night Aquarium” shifts away from its daytime form and reveals its otherworldly side. The music inside changes, and the fish swim amidst the deep blue sea under light like moonlight. It is a beautiful and mystical sight.
